PRESS RELEASE: Money254 Wins Gold at the 2023 Mobile App Awards‍

Money254 has been recognised as the best mobile app in Kenya’s Savings and Goal Tracking category. 

The recognition was made at the Mobile Apps Award held on Thursday evening, November 2023, where Money254 bagged the gold award at a colourful award gala held at the Sarova Panafric. 

Money254 is Kenya’s premier financial comparison platform that has been helping Kenyans make the most of their money over the past three years. 

Through its website and mobile app, Money254 helps Kenyans make their financial decisions with confidence. This is made possible by independently verifying data about various financial products in the market and sharing it in one marketplace where Kenyans can compare and apply based on their needs. 

The company came into the Kenyan market with the intention of filling an information gap with regard to information and choices availed to consumers about the financial products and services available to them. 

Other Nominees

Despite the existence of hundreds of financial products and a robust adult population of over 25 million, getting the full details on the financial products, including who is best suited for what - has been a big challenge for most Kenyans. 

Through Money254.co.ke, Kenyans are able to compare information about personal loans, savings, credit cards, insurance, business loans, etc. The platform also offers financial literacy content - both of these services are offered free of charge. 

At the 2023 Mobile App Awards, the Best Saving and Tracking App category had eight nominees including Money254 (the winner); Stima Sacco, the second-largest sacco in Kenya; and SafCIRI App run by Safaricom Sacco.

Other apps in the category included Chumz, Mombo App, Cashlet App, Malipo App, and Chamasoft App.

Other categories included the Mobile App of the Year, Best News and Information App, Best Social Networking App, Best Educational App, Best Gaming App, Best Video on Demand App, Best Online Marketplace App, Best Health and Wellness App, among others. 

Citizen Digital bagged both the Mobile App of the Year Award and the Best News and Information App. 

NRG Radio won gold in the best radio app and the best Music and Entertainment categories. Retailer Carrefour was also one of the winners at the event dubbed 3rd Annual Vibrant Digital Mobile App Awards.
