ADvTECH, Which Owns Makini Schools & Crawford International, Records Ksh15B Profit

ADvTECH, the South African company that owns Makini Schools and Crawford International in Kenya, has reported an operating profit of Ksh15 billion for the year ended December 31, 2025.

In a statement, the multinational—listed on the Johannesburg Securities Exchange—said it recorded revenue of Ksh70.44 billion (equivalent to R9.33 billion), marking a 9.5% increase in revenue and a 13.8% growth in profit compared to the 2024 financial year.

Addressing the press, Advtech CEO Geoff Whyte attributed the performance to a favourable operating environment and moderate fee increases.

“Healthy enrolment growth, moderate fee increases, improved debtor control, and increased margins contributed to Advtech delivering over R2 billion in operating profit for the first time,” he said.

He added that the company’s continued investment in people, systems, and infrastructure, alongside efforts to simplify its brand structure, is strengthening its position as a leading private education provider on the continent.

In August last year, the group acquired Regis Runda Academy and rebranded it as Makini Schools. Since then, student numbers have grown from 2,000 to 3,000.

The company has also been investing in AI-powered digital learning and expanding co-curricular activities, including sports. Makini now operates four campuses located along Ngong Road, State House Avenue, Migosi, and Kisumu City.

Crawford International School in Kenya also expanded its capacity from 900 to 1,300 students.

The Kenyan operations are part of Advtech’s broader African portfolio. The group acquired Flipper International in Addis Ababa in November 2024 and launched Rosebank International University College in Accra, Ghana, in June 2025. In total, Advtech now manages 119 schools across the continent.
