The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) recently announced an increment of 29.5% in salaries for teachers following the signing of the 2025-2029 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
In the review, adjustments were made to the basic salary and baggage allowance (an allowance given to public servants on transfers to ferry their household goods from one station to another). Other allowance for teachers are set to remain the same.

Other Allowances
The table below shows the other allowances teachers receive depending on the places where they work. For example, hardship allowance is paid to teachers who work in hardship areas.

This is an allowance that is paid to public servants on transfers to ferry their household goods from one station to another.
Other Changes
1. Teachers who exit service through dismissal shall be entitled to pension benefits.
2. The Commission, in consultation with other relevant Government agencies and the unions, will conduct a job evaluation exercise for the teaching service within the financial year 2025/2026. Upon conclusion of the job evaluaton exercise, the Commission will review the Career Progression Guidelines in consultation with the unions.
3. The Commission shall grant female lactating teachers two (2) hours' time-off per day for two (2) months to breastfeed.
