EPRA Announces Fuel Prices for August 2025

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has reduced the price of Super Petrol and Kerosene by Ksh1 in the latest review. As a result Super Petrol will retail at Ksh185.31 per litre as Kerosene retails at Ksh155.58 per litre in Nairobi.

In the price list released on Wednesday, August 14, EPRA maintained the prices of Diesel at Ksh171.58 per litre.

"In accordance with Section 101(y) of the Petroleum Act 2019 and Legal Notice No.192 of 2022, we have calculated the maximum retail prices of petroleum products which will be in force from 15 August 2025 to 14 September 2025," the statement read in part.

"During the review period, the maximum allowable pump prices for Super Petrol and Kerosene have each decreased by Ksh1 per litre, while the price of diesel remains unchanged."

In Mombasa, EPRA set Super Petrol prices at Ksh.182.03. Diesel will be sold at Ksh168.30 as Kerosene is sold for Ksh.152.29.

In Kisumu, the prices for Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will be Ksh.185.16, Ksh.171.78, and Ksh.155.83 respectively.

"The average landed cost of imported Super Petrol decreased by 0.73% from US$628.30 per cubic metre in June 2025 to USS623.71 per cubic metre in July 2025; Diesel increased by 3.08% from US$616.59 per cubic metre to US$638.58 per cubic metre while Kerosene increased by 3.20% from US$608.54 per cubic metre to US$628.02 per cubic metre over the same period," read the statement in part.

In Nakuru, Super Petrol will retail at Ksh184.35, Diesel at Ksh170.97, and Kerosene at Ksh155.01.

In Eldoret, motorists will pay Ksh185.17 for Super Petrol, Ksh171.80 for Diesel, and Ksh155.83 for Kerosene.

The drop comes after EPRA increased pump prices in July. EPRA increased the prices for Super Petrol, Diesel, and Kerosene by Ksh8.99, Ksh8.67, and Ksh9.65 per litre, respectively.

The authority explained that the increase was necessitated by the increase in importation costs and an increase in international fuel prices.
