Govt Announces 400 Internship Opportunities for Graduates; How to Apply

The ICT authority has announced 400 internship opportunities targeting graduates for the Presidential Digital Talent Programme (PDTP).

The authority is targeting to recruit 150 interns for the Network & Digital Infrastructure department.

In the Software Development & AI field, the authority is seeking to recruit 100 interns. Other fields are Information Security (50), Multimedia (Graphic Design) & Digital Marketing (50), and Data Analytics (50).

“The ICT Authority invites suitable recent university graduates to apply for the Presidential Digital Talent Programme (PDTP) Cohort X Intake. Through this transformative initiative, the Government is looking for young talented Kenyans with passion for ICT and Public Service to undergo a structured 12-month internship programme in both the public and private sector. 

“The program provides participants an excellent opportunity to gain workplace experience, expand knowledge, mentorship, refine career goals and build professional networks,” read the notice in part.

Internship Requirements

1. Applicants must have graduated and attained First or Upper Second-Class Honors (or the equivalent) from a recognized institution in the last two years.
2. Those waiting to graduate this year must provide a stamped letter from the university indicating that they will be awarded a first or upper second-class honors.
3. Graduates who are targeted must have taken a course in BSc. ICT or Engineering (Electrical & Electronics, Telecommunication, Systems/Software, Computer)
4. Applicants are Kenyan youth between 21 to 29 years of age and unemployed

“The graduates must have thorough knowledge in their core areas of specialization; Network & Digital Infrastructure, Software Development & AI, Information Security, Multimedia (Graphic Design) & Digital Marketing, and Data Analytics,” read the notice in part.

“The Applicant may be required to demonstrate technical competencies on their core area of specialization prior to the interview.”

Upon successful application, interns will be deployed in government offices across the 47 counties.
