How to Check 2025 KCSE Results 

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has officially released the 2025 KCSE results on Friday, January 9, 2026.

Parents and the over 900,000 students who sat for the national exams last year can access the results through the KNEC website.

To check the results, visit  https://results.knec.ac.ke

You will be required to key in the student’s index number and any one of your registered name(s) in the spaces provided.

Once you have entered the details, you will be required to tick or select the privacy and access notice.

Click on the "Search for Results" button, and the results will appear on the screen.

Overview of 2025 KCSE Results

993,226 candidates sat the 2025 KCSE examination in 10,765 secondary schools across the country. 492,019 candidates were male, while 501,214 of the candidates were female. The candidates were tested in 30 subjects.

Over 250,000 are expected to join universities after attaining a mean grade of C+ and above.

"We are impressed that out of the 993,000 candidates, 50 per cent of whom were girls, 270,000 attained C+ and above, securing a direct entry to university," President William Ruto stated after being briefed of the results.

In the 2025 national examinations, 1,932 candidates scored grade A. 270,715 students will be joining universities after attaining a mean grade of C+.

"There were 1,932 (0.19%) candidates who obtained an overall mean grade A (plain) in the year 2025 KCSE examination. This is an improvement as compared to 1,693 (0.18%) candidates in 2024," CS Ogamba announced.

"The number of candidates with direct university entry qualification of mean grade C+ and above was 270,715 (27.18%) in the year 2025 KCSE examination. This is an improvement compared to 246,391 (25.53%) in 2024."

1,180 candidates were found to have engaged in examination malpractice, and their results were cancelled by the examination council.
