KUCCPS Portal Now Open for 2022/2023 University, College, and TVET Applications

Applications are now open for 2021 KCSE candidates to apply for admissions into various undergraduate, diploma, certificate, and other programmes for government-sponsored and private students in any of the Kenyan Universities, Colleges, and TVETs in the 2022/2023 academic year.

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) places Kenyan government-subsidised students in universities and colleges to pursue a wide range of degrees, diplomas, and certificate programmes.

KUCCPS also provides information on various programmes and the colleges that provide them for each cycle.

The good news is that all 826,807 students who sat for KCSE in 2022 will have the opportunity to be placed in institutions of higher learning according to KUCCPS CEO, Mercy Wahome.

Anyone who is also interested in enrolling in one of the various Teacher training colleges (TTC) can do so as well as those interested in participating in Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DIPTE) or Diploma in Early Childhood Education (DECTE) TTCs.

Qualifying KCSE applicants have 14 days to apply or revise their courses online via KUCCPS student portal. The deadline is set for June 2, 2022.

  1. To begin your application, go to the KUCCPS Student Portal.

Note that your Initial password is either your KCPE Index Number or Birth Certificate Number.

  1. Begin your application/revision by inputting the programme codes for all six options marked 1a, 1b, 1c, 2, 3, and 4

All programmes have minimum subject requirements. You can only apply for courses that meet the minimum requirements; nevertheless, your selection will be based on your overall performance and available capacity.

  1. Go to the Programmes tab to view the various programmes and their eligibility requirements.

You can also search for courses by institution using the Institutions tab.

  1. If you qualify for all the programmes, add them to your Course Basket as you select them. This will allow you to narrow down your final list of courses to apply for.
  2. To apply, enter the Programme Codes in the Application/Revision page then click on the Submit button.
  3. Once you’ve done that, follow the application fee payment instructions after checking that the Program Codes entered correspond to the courses for which you wish to apply.

If this is your first time applying, the system will prompt you with an MPESA transaction code. Complete the payment via MPESA and then provide the transaction code to authorise your transaction.

The application processing fee is as follows:

  • Students submitting their first application - Ksh1,500
  • Students revising selections submitted by their schools – Ksh1,000

It is strongly advised that you keep your transaction code safe. It will be required before any additional changes to your application can be made.

Note:

Students can view their previous programme selections by clicking on the "View Previous Options" link, and their current programme options by clicking on the "View Current Choices" link.

KUCCPS will NOT accept manual revisions using physical application forms. All applications MUST be submitted electronically, following the steps outlined above.
