
For the first half of 2026, Money Market Funds in Kenya recorded an average net returns recorded at 7.62%.
In that period, Nabo Africa Money Market Fund recorded the highest returns at 9.60%, followed by Cytonn Money Market Fund at 9.40%.
The other MMFs in the top five were Lofty-Corban Money Market Fund at 8.71%, Etica Money Market Fund at 8.60%, and Jubilee Money Market Fund at 8.35%.
Conversely, some of the MMFs with the lowest returns were ICEA Lion Money Market Fund (6.63%), African Alliance Kenya Money Market Fund (4.91%), and Equity Money Market Fund (4.90%).

Here are the Net Returns for Dollar MMFs in H1 of 2026
For investors looking to protect themselves from shilling fluctuations or generate dollar income, dollar MMFs posted an average return of 4.28%.
Nabo Africa Money Market Fund USD led the category through H1 2026, posting a 5.39% net return. Etica MMF USD followed at 4.79% net, while Dry Associates Money Market Fund USD returned 4.64% net.
Money Market Funds remain the dominant investment vehicle in Kenya’s Collective Investment Scheme market, with Ksh442 billion in assets under management as of March 2026, accounting for 52% of the industry’s total assets of Ksh851 billion.
