Top 15 Performing MMFs By Their Returns of January 2026

Investors in some Money Market Funds (MMFs) saw their returns increase slightly in January 2026 after some funds recorded improved returns.

6 MMFs saw their returns increase from December 2025 to January 2025, including  Arvocap MMF, which emerged as the MMF with the highest net return for investors at 9.69%. This was a 0.77% growth from the 8.82% return recorded in December 2025.

The other funds that witnessed a growth in net returns amidst a drop in returns for most MMFs were Dry Associates MMF, whose net returns grew from 7.71% in December 2025 to 7.83% in January 2026.

GenAfrica MMF had its net returns increase from 7.63% in December 2025 to 7.68%.

The other MMFs with improved returns were KCB MMF (7.52% to 7.64%), Co-op MMF (6.66% to 6.69%) and Absa Shilling Fund MMF (6.25% to 6.29%).

In terms of the MMFs with the highest returns, Arvocap Money Market Fund had the highest returns at 9.69%. Cytonn Money Market Fund was the second-best-performing MMF with a net return of 9.44%.

The other MMFs in the top five were Etica Money Market Fund (9.07%), Nabo Africa Money Market Fund (9.05%), Enwealth Money Market Fund (8.95%)

‍Outlook for MMFs in 2026

The Assets Under Management (AUM) in 2025 hit Ksh 400 billion in 2025, highlighting its growing appeal.

Competition is increasingly favouring fund managers offering lower fees and more flexible, tech-driven access options, as investors turn to MMFs primarily for liquidity management and emergency savings rather than long-term wealth accumulation.

Kenyans are also looking at special funds such as the Mansa X Special Fund, which recorded a net return of 20.74% in 2025.
