TSC Announces 45,313 Jobs, Including Internships; How to Apply

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced vacant positions targeting teachers seeking career progression and graduates looking for internship positions.

In the notice published on Tuesday, August 12, TSC announced 21,313 vacancies for teachers seeking to progress to roles of Principals, deputy principals, senior teachers, and curriculum support officers.

The highest vacancies are for Senior Teacher II - Regular (4683), Deputy Head-teacher II - Regular(3,547), Senior Teacher I (3,244), and Senior Head Teacher (Regular)

Interested candidates who meet the required qualifications should submit their applications online through the TSC portal – www.teachersonline.go.ke.

Applications need to be sent by Monday, 25th August 2025, midnight. 

"Successful candidates shall be posted to schools where vacancies are available. Manual applications shall not be considered," read the notice in part.

Ksh20,000 Paid TSC Internships

Likewise, TSC announced 24,000 internships for positions for graduates seeking to be posted in Junior schools.

The internship will last 12 months with successful candidates getting a monthly stipend of Ksh20,000.

Eligible Candidates 

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen;
  2. Must be a holder of at least a diploma in education with a minimum mean Grade of C+ (plus) and C+ (plus) in two teaching Subjects in KCSE or its equivalent. 
  3. Must be a registered teacher with the Teachers Service Commission.
  4. Be unemployed and have no record of exiting the teaching service with the Commission due to disciplinary grounds.
  5. Candidates will be required to present original academic and professional certificates.
  6. Must have a Personal Accident Insurance cover for personal risks during the internship period

How to Apply for TSC Internship Positions.

Interested and qualified candidates should submit their applications online through the Commission’s website, www.tsc.go.ke, under “Careers” or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke.

Applications need to be sent to the Commission through the online platform by midnight of September 9, 2025.

Required Documents

  1. A copy of Teacher Registration Certificate/print-out from TSC online portal as evidence of registration as a teacher.
  2. A copy of the National Council for Persons with Disability (NCPWD) card (where applicable).
  3. A copy of the National Identity Card (ID) or Passport.
  4. 2 colour passport size photographs.
  5. A copy of the Kenya Revenue Authority Personal Identification Number (KRA PIN).
