Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba, on Thursday, December 11, announced the 2025 Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) results.
Parents of over 1.1 million Grade 9 students can check the results online via the KNEC website.
This applies to principals and heads on institutions.
Unlike KCSE and KCSE, where students received marks and grades, respectively, the grading of KJSEA is done differently.
The four grading points have been subdivided into two, i.e, there are EE1 and EE2, differentiating those learners who score the top marks in their band category.

The candidates who sat for the KJSEA exams this year are expected to be placed in various high schools across the country.
Students are expected to receive their placement letters before December 25, 2025, as the government will be using a digital system for the placement exercise.
The Ministry of Education set the tentative opening date for Grade 10 as Monday, January 12, 2026.
In Grade 10, which is the inaugural class for Senior Secondary Schools (SSS), students will pursue any of the three pathways offered under the Competency-Based Education (CBE). The available pathways include Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM); Arts and Sport, and Social Sciences.
Students will primarily undertake 7 subjects, 4 of which will be core subjects that include: English, Kiswahili/KSL, Community Service Learning, and Physical Education. The remaining 3 subjects will be selected from the various pathways.
