
Kenyan investors can now buy shares in Quickmart PLC as the supermarket chain opens its Initial Public Offering (IPO) ahead of its planned listing on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).
The IPO opened on October 5, 2026, and investors have until 5:00 pm on October 30, 2026 to submit their applications.
Quickmart is offering 2 billion existing ordinary shares at Ksh7.50 per share, giving the offer a total value of Ksh15 billion.
The shares represent 50% of Quickmart's issued share capital, while the company will have an implied market capitalisation of Ksh30 billion at the offer price.

The minimum application under the Quickmart IPO is 500 shares. Since each share is being offered at Ksh7.50, an investor needs at least Ksh3,750.
Applications above the minimum must be made in multiples of 100 shares.
There is no maximum application limit, meaning investors who want to purchase a larger number of shares can apply for as many shares as they wish, subject to the applicable allocation arrangements.
Investors have three options: online portal, USSD or physical applications.
One of the most important requirements for investors is having a valid Central Depository and Settlement (CDS) account. Interested investors can open a CDS account through the IPO online portal - https://quickmartipo.e-offer.app.

Investors can submit their applications electronically through the designated Quickmart IPO application portal - https://quickmartipo.e-offer.app.
The application process requires investors to complete the electronic application and upload the required supporting documents.
Investors should ensure that the information provided during the application process is accurate and that they meet all the requirements set out in the Information Memorandum.

Retail investors can also apply using their mobile phones by dialling *483*803#
However, the USSD option is only available to investors whose total application value is Ksh250,000 or less.
At Ksh7.50 per share, the maximum number of shares an investor can apply for through the USSD channel while remaining within the Ksh250,000 limit is 33,300 shares.
Investors who prefer physical applications can download the application form from the Quickmart IPO application portal - https://quickmartipo.e-offer.app.
Completed forms must be submitted to the designated placing agents no later than 5:00 pm on October 30, 2026, which is the closing date of the offer.
Notably, Quickmart has noted that investors could soon be able to invest through Safaricom’s Ziidi Trader App. However, that is yet to be made available.

After completing the Quickmart IPO application, investors can make payment through bank transfer, cash deposit or M-Pesa using the details provided by Quickmart.
Investors can pay through Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS), Telegraphic Transfer or cash deposit into the designated Quickmart IPO account at Stanbic Bank Kenya Limited.
The bank account name is Quickmart IPO, with account number 6565650XXXXXX, where the six Xs represent the six-digit number on your Application Form. The complete account number should therefore contain 13 digits.
The account is held at Stanbic Bank Kenya Limited, Chiromo Branch, with branch code 31000. The SWIFT code is SBICKENX.

Investors can also make their Quickmart IPO payment through M-Pesa PayBill.
Use PayBill number 8250250 and enter 6565650XXXXXX as the account number, with the six Xs replaced by the six-digit number appearing on your Application Form.
The offer opened at 9:00 am on October 5, 2026 and will close at 5:00 pm on October 30, 2026.
October 30 is also the final date for retail investors to make payment for their applications.
The company expects to announce the IPO results and notify investors about their allocation on November 6, 2026.
Successful applicants are expected to have their shares credited to their CDS accounts on November 11, 2026, while refunds, where applicable, will also begin being processed on that date.
Quickmart shares are scheduled to start trading on the NSE on November 12, 2026.
The company has cautioned that these dates may change. Any amendments to the timetable will be communicated through the company's official channels and other required public announcements.
