
For decades, Kenya’s national schools represented the pinnacle of secondary education. They were elite institutions that admitted top-performing students from every corner of the country.
Predominant schools that were known included Alliance, Starehe, Kenya High, and Mang’u. However, with the implementation of the Competency-Based Education (CBE), those same institutions still exist, but under a new label: Cluster 1 (C1) schools.
