Top 10 Best-Performing NSE Stocks in August 2026

Investors at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) enjoyed strong returns in August 2026, with several stocks recording double-digit gains within the month.

A review of share price movements between August 3 and August 31 shows that companies across various sectors, including manufacturing, banking, agriculture, and energy, delivered impressive capital gains to shareholders.

Below is a breakdown of the 10 best-performing NSE stocks during the month and how much a Ksh100,000 investment in each company would have been worth by the end of August.

1. Shri Krishana Overseas

Shri Krishana Overseas emerged as the best-performing stock in August after its share price surged from Ksh11.65 on August 3 to Ksh21.50 on August 31.

An investor who bought shares worth Ksh100,000 at the beginning of the month in the company that manufactures corrugated boxes and packaging materials would have seen the investment grow to Ksh184,549 by August 31, translating to a capital gain of Ksh84,549.

2. Car & General

Car & General ranked second after its share price climbed from Ksh156.50 to Ksh257.50.

A Ksh100,000 investment at the start of August would have increased to Ksh164,537, representing a capital gain of Ksh64,537.

3. Africa Mega Agricorp

Africa Mega Agricorp posted another strong performance during the month, with its share price rising from Ksh127.50 to Ksh171.

An investor who put Ksh100,000 into the stock would have seen the investment grow to Ksh134,118, resulting in a gain of Ksh34,118.

4. Diamond Trust Bank

Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) was the highest-performing banking stock among the top ten.

Its share price rose from Ksh152.50 to Ksh195 during the month. As a result, a Ksh100,000 investment would have grown to Ksh127,869, delivering a capital gain of Ksh27,869.

5. Unga Group

Unga Group's share price increased from Ksh34.25 to Ksh42.35.

For an investor who bought shares worth Ksh100,000 at the beginning of August, the investment would have grown to Ksh123,650 by month-end, representing a growth of Ksh23,650.

6. Carbacid Investments

Carbacid Investments also delivered strong returns, with its share price moving from Ksh35.90 to Ksh43.20.

A Ksh100,000 investment would have been worth Ksh120,334 at the end of the month, translating to a gain of Ksh20,334.

7. I&M Group

I&M Group was also among the top-performing institutions in the banking sector as its share price rose from Ksh68.50 to Ksh79.50.

An investor who put Ksh100,000 into the stock would have seen the investment increase to Ksh116,058, representing a gain of Ksh16,058.

8. Flame Tree Group

Flame Tree Group's share price climbed from Ksh1.87 to Ksh2.16 during the month.

A Ksh100,000 investment would have grown to Ksh115,508, earning the investor a profit of Ksh15,508.

9. TotalEnergies Marketing Kenya

TotalEnergies Marketing Kenya’s share price increased from Ksh43.30 to Ksh48.50.

A Ksh100,000 investment would be worth Ksh112,009 at the end of August,  delivering a gain of Ksh12,009.

10. BOC Kenya

Rounding off the list was BOC Kenya, whose share price rose from Ksh176 to Ksh195.50.

An investor who put Ksh100,000 into the stock of the supplier of industrial, medical and special gases at the beginning of August would have seen the investment grow to Ksh111,080, resulting in a capital gain of Ksh11,080.
