PSC Announces 6,000 Internships; How to Apply

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced 6,000 internship vacancies under the State Department for Housing and Urban Development.

As advertised on October 20, 2026, the vacancies are under Cohort 2 of the Affordable Housing Programme (AHP), which seeks to equip young professionals with relevant skills and help in the implementation of the housing programme.

The internships will run for 12 months and will not be renewable. Successful applicants will receive a stipend at a rate determined by the government and be awarded certificates upon successfully completing the programme.

The positions for Degree programmes include Architecture (475), Civil Engineering (275), Construction Management (500), Electrical Engineering (250), Mechanical Engineering (350), Quantity Surveying (300), and Structural Engineering (300).

Other professions targeting degree holders include Health and Safety (300), Land Surveying/Geospatial (230), Landscape Architecture (250), Realtors (330), Valuers (330), Social Development (115) and Urban and Regional Planning (200) and Data Science/ Artificial Intelligence (50).

Others are Gender and Development Studies (50), Communication and Branding (20) and Environmental Practitioners (30).

For diploma holders, the jobs include Structural Assistant (225 vacancies), Architectural Assistant (330), Quantity Surveying Assistant (300), Building Inspector (290), Inspector Civil Engineering (300), Inspector of Gas/Refrigeration and Inspector Plumbing and Drainage (175), Property Managers (250), Inspector Electricals (75), and Interior Design (30).

“For appointment to an internship position, a candidate must have a Bachelor's degree or Diploma, as specified for each of the above professional areas,” read the notice in part.

“The candidate must have graduated not earlier than the year 2020 and be proficient in computer skills.”

How to Apply

Interested and qualified candidates should submit their applications through the Public Service Commission's online job portals www.publicservice.go.ke or www.psckjobs.go.ke.

Candidates should complete the application process online and ensure their details meet the requirements for their selected professional area.

The deadline for submitting applications is November 9, 2026.
