Top 10 Most Valuable Companies on the NSE 

The top 10 most valuable companies listed on the NSE recorded a combined market capitalisation of Ksh3.06 trillion in June 2026. This was 80.94% of the entire market capitalisation of Ksh3.78 trillion. 

According to the Q2 market statistical report by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA), in May 2026, the 10 institutions had a market capitalisation of Ksh2.80 trillion. In just one month that represents a Ksh259.62 billion increase.

The top 10 list was mostly dominated by banking institutions. Here is the rank of the top 10 most valuable companies on the NSE as at the end of June 2026.

1. Safaricom -  Ksh1.36 trillion

Safaricom remained at the top with a market capitalisation of Ksh1.36 trillion. At the end of June, a share was trading at Ksh34.40.

The telco's market value stood at Ksh1.22 trillion in May, meaning it added about Ksh140.23 billion in one month. This was the largest increase in market value among the top 10.

Vodacom Group recently announced the completion of its acquisition of an additional 20% stake in Safaricom, increasing its shareholding to approximately 55%.

The transaction, valued at around Ksh271 billion ($2.1 billion), involved the purchase of a 15% stake from the Kenyan government and a 5% stake from Vodafone at Ksh34 per share.

2. Equity Group -  Ksh301.89 billion

Equity Group was the second most valuable company on the NSE at the end of June 2026, with a market capitalisation of Ksh301.89 billion. At the end of June, a share was trading at Ksh81.50.

By the end of May 2026, the lender has a market capitalisation of Ksh280.20 billion. This means it added Ksh21.69 billion to its market value during the month.

3. KCB Group -  Ksh253.06 billion

KCB Group had a market capitalisation of Ksh253.06 billion in June 2026. At the end of that month, a share was trading at Ksh78.50.

The bank's market value was Ksh214.50 billion in May, meaning that the market capitalization increased by Ksh38.56 billion in June.

4. East African Breweries Limited -  Ksh212.72 billion

East African Breweries Limited (EABL) was the fourth most valuable company on the NSE in June, with a market capitalisation of Ksh212.72 billion. At the end of June, a share was trading at Ksh269.

The brewer was valued at Ksh196.11 billion in May, representing a gain of Ksh16.61 billion.

Japan's Asahi Group Holdings is currently in the process of acquiring 65% stake at EABL from Diageo. The deal is estimated to cost approximately Ksh300 billion.

5. Co-operative Bank - Ksh201.24 billion

Co-operative Bank crossed the Ksh200 billion mark in June, ranking fifth with a market capitalisation of Ksh201.24 billion. A share was trading at Ksh34.70 at the end of June 2026.

The lender's market value stood at Ksh188.34 billion in May, giving it an increase of Ksh12.90 billion.

6.  Kenya Pipeline Company - Ksh171.92 billion

Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) was the seventh most valuable company in the June ranking, with a market capitalisation of Ksh171.92 billion. At the end of June a share was trading at Ksh9.20.

Its market value stood at Ksh166.10 billion in May, meaning the company gained Ksh5.82 billion.

KPC is among the latest companies to be listed on the NSE. The company was listed in March this yeat. In Kenya Pipelines, Initial Public Offering (IPO), the government offered to sell 65% of its stake at Ksh 9 per share, successfully raising Ksh 106.3 billion after closing with a 105.7% subscription rate.

7. Absa Bank Kenya -  Ksh174.08 billion

Absa Bank Kenya ranked sixth after its market capitalisation reached Ksh174.08 billion in June. At the end of June a share was trading at Ksh32.05.

The bank was valued at Ksh156.16 billion in May, meaning it added Ksh17.92 billion to its market value.

Recently, South Africa's Absa Group recently offered to acquire an additional 16.5% stake in Absa Bank Kenya approximately Ksh30.8 billion($238 million), though the tender ultimately achieved a low subscription rate.

The group had offer would have seen its ownership increase from 68.5% to 85%. The South African entity had offered to by a share at Ksh34.50. 

8. NCBA Group - Ksh147.45 billion

NCBA Group had a market capitalisation of Ksh147.45 billion in June. A share was trading at Ksh90 at the end of that month.

The lender's value increased from Ksh143.75 billion in May, adding Ksh3.70 billion during the month. 

NCBA is currently in the process of being acquired by South Africa’s NedBank. The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) on Monday, August 31, officially approved  the South African entity to acquire up to a 66% majority stake in NCBA. 

9. Standard Chartered Bank Kenya - Ksh123.84 billion

Standard Chartered Bank Kenya ranked ninth in June, with a market capitalization of Ksh123.84 billion. A share was trading at Ksh333 at the end of June 2026.

Unlike most of the companies in the ranking, StanChart's market value was lower than it had In May, when it stood at Ksh125.92 billion.

The bank therefore lost Ksh2.08 billion, making it the only company among the top 10 to record a decline between the two months.

10. Stanbic Holdings -Ksh110.79 billion

Stanbic Holdings completed the June top 10 with a market capitalisation of Ksh110.79 billion. A share was price at Ksh294 at the end of June 2026.

The company's market value increased from Ksh106.54 billion in May, giving it a gain of Ksh4.25 billion.
