The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has unveiled a portal where Kenyans can check whether their Driving Licences (DLs) or number plates have been processed.
According to a statement released by the authority on Thursday, January 22, several smart driving licences and new generation number plates remain uncollected at various service points despite being processed months ago.
“The Authority informs the public that there are several uncollected Smart Driving Licences at Huduma Centres and across NTSA offices,” read the statement in part.

For those who are yet to receive their DLs, they will have to use their ID numbers to check the status of their processing.
On the other hand, those checking if NTSA has processed their new number plates should use the vehicles regitration number.

According to NTSA, the processing of Smart Driving Licences takes up to five days once an application has been successfully submitted.
Motorists seeking to acquire a Smart DL will be required to pay Ksh3,000, which covers the application and processing costs.
On reflective number plates, NTSA charges Ksh1,550 for a single reflective plate. Those applying for a full set are required to pay Ksh3,050 for a pair of reflective number plates.
The processing of reflective number plates takes seven days, after which motorists can collect them from designated NTSA centres once notified.
