The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced 1,000 internship vacancies at the Ministry of Education.
In a notice dated Tuesday, September 15, the PSC indicated that the State Department for Basic Education was seeking interns for the Digital Literacy Programme (DLP) Cohort 5.
The internship programme is designed to provide graduates with practical experience while supporting the implementation of digital learning in schools across the country.
The internship will run for 12 months and is non-renewable. Successful candidates will receive a government stipend during the internship period.
Successful applicants will be deployed to schools at the sub-county level, where they will support virtual learning platforms, train teachers in the use of digital devices, and provide ICT support services.

To qualify, one must either have a Bachelor's degree in Education with specialisation in ICT or a Bachelor's degree in ICT.
Diploma holders in ICT or ICT Integration in Education have also been advised to apply for the internships.
However, the internship will be limited to graduates who graduated from 2022 to date.
“For appointment to this internship position, a candidate must be Knowledgeable in networking and infrastructure, applications development, information security and project management,” read the notice in part.
“Have the ability to integrate ICT with Education in terms of e-Learning and content development and have the requisite skills to carry out research and innovation to support the Digital Literacy Programme.”
Interested candidates are required to submit their applications online through the Public Service Commission (PSC) recruitment portal- publicservice.go.ke or psckjobs.go.ke.
Applicants were advised to submit their applications by October 5, 2026.
Upon successful completion of the programme, interns will also be awarded a certificate by the State Department for Basic Education.
