Top 15 MMFs By Their Net Returns in August 2026

Net returns of Money Market Funds (MMFs) increased to 7.73% in August 2026, from 7.58% reported in July 2026.

Cytonn Money Market Fund recorded the highest net returns for investors at 8.95%, followed by Nabo Africa Money Market Fund at 8.82%.

The other MMFs in the top five were Faulu Money Market Fund (8.77%), Etica Money Market Fund (8.76%) and Enwealth Money Market Fund (8.62%).

Here are the Dollar MMFs and Their August 2026 Net Returns

In August 2026, the net returns for dollar MMFs dropped to 4.22% from 4.43%, which was reported in July 2026.

Nabo Africa Money Market Fund USD had the highest returns at 5.58%, followed by Etica MMF USD at 5.25% and KCB Money Market Fund USD at 4.45%

According to the Q2 report by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA), Money Market Funds(MMFs) remained the largest category among collective investment schemes, with assets under management standing at Ksh459.8 billion. 

AUM in Fixed income funds was reported at Ksh228 billion, while equity funds and balanced funds held Ksh5.8 billion and Ksh2.1 billion, respectively.

The report also noted that investments in Special Funds were increasing as investors seek higher returns.

At the end of June 2026, AUM in Special Funds grew by nearly Ksh49.2 billion in the three months to June 2026. The growth translates to an average of approximately Ksh547 million invested every day during the period. 

CMA data shows that AUM in Special Funds increased from Ksh203.5 billion at the end of March 2026 to Ksh252.8 billion by the end of June 2026. The largest special funds by AUM were Mansa-X Special Fund, which managed Ksh163.8 billion, Mansa-X Special Fund USD with Ksh20.5 billion, and Oak Multi Asset Special KES Fund with Ksh19.0 billion.
